Hoo boy. Wondering if I made the right call with #DenFur. Posted in their official Telegram chat at the beginning of this ordeal looking for info about simple things like when Pre-Reg closes for the con, and trying to confirm whether or not the room block was officially closed. Finally got some replies from staff and y'all it's like talking to a brick wall.

My favorite was when a member of staff told me repeatedly "our social media team has been doing a great job of keeping the hotel block ads fresh" when the last mention of their hotel options (on Twitter) was back in *MAY*, with zero mention of when the room block closes. Also zero mention of when Pre-Reg ends since then too. I also got told "Our website did have an announcement as to when the room block would be open along with other applications[sic] timeliness" but hell if I can find that info anywhere on their website.

Oof.

Really hoping the con goes better than this first impression, yeesh.

@baralheia any chance they may have been talking about another social media channel? Most of the big sites (Facebook, twitter, etc) have been hot garbage with visibility, with AWU we’ve honestly considered just not posting to Twitter anymore.

@talon Twitter and Instagram appear to be their only two social media profiles. I don't have Insta so I just looked at the Replies tab on Twitter, which should show everything they post in chronological order... And yeah, nothing lol

@baralheia @talon And now you're starting understand why quite a few of us Denver locals want nothing to do with the con. That's just a taste of how dysfunctional a lot of stuff is.
