Hey, #bike enthusiasts, let me nerd snipe you for a second. ( :boosts_ok: )
In February 2022 I bought this Raleigh bike from a charity shop in France, and, ever since, i've been completely unable to pin-point its precise model, and the half worn decals, don't help. The less-worn spots seem to spell "CT 30" in an oval on the right side of the top tube, and that's it. I have no history for that bike. For all I know it rotted in a garage for decades before being given away.
What I know:
It's a Raleigh bike, Ogre series, "woman" frame, and might be a road bike (at least back when it was released; i got mine with deep-grooved 2" tyres installed). Serial number is D9674XXXX (X are all digits), but aside from hinting at manufacturing in Ireland in '96, it's not much help. What I've tried:
- I've scoured vintage bike forums (which consider vintage bikes to be anything up to 1990, so no luck), and anything Raleigh seems to direct you to vintage bikes and not their more recent models
- I looked up Retro Raleighs (same, too old) and Sheldon Brown's various websites, as well as lists on a site for frame information but they only had recent (release after 2000) Raleighs, and no Ogres
- I looked up serial number guides, but none correspond to the precise number of digits or letters I have
- I've also looked online for ebay listings of similar bikes, and while the frame looks extremely similar to a Raleigh SC-30, it's not one (the decals on mine don't look the same at all).
Wanna help me find the solution?
